Figure haul post #1

Amiami is a death trap. Financially. My poor wallet is looking at massive hits this year due to some undeniably irresistible figures.

These are my January preorders. It was only two this time as I wasn’t too interested in anything else except for Super Sonico Yukata version (Explaination below)

Nendroid; Homucifer -- Akemi Homura

First, Akuma Akemi Homura.  If any of you follow the Madoka fandom, she is commonly (and lovingly) called Homucifer, the counter part to Godoka or Madokami (Or you know, plain old Madoka) She came with two item hands, so I felt like getting a religious scales theme going by having them both on at the same time. She comes with two faces (not shown) and it is like I will change to the more benign face.

Her legs are also interchangeable and can both sit or stand. I like the sitting pose the best.

In all, I really love this figure. Probably because she is jointed and pose-able. The only thing I have about nendroids is that these buggers sell out fast in pre-order.

On to Fuuri Watanuki! She is the drummer from Super Sonico [Nitro+] and is pretty much my next favorite after Sonico and Pachacho. This particular figure comes from a spring yukata set and the only reason why I did not buy Sonico from this set is because Richard already preordered her and received her earlier this month.  Such is the life of living with a collector living with another collector.

Fuuri Watanuki - Top off - Yukata version

To be fair, she has great plot.

All the figures from this series are top-off versions, which means their clothes are removable and can be displayed mostly naked. (panties are an appeal point, so most characters have these sculpted and painted on permanently.

And because I am a giant food junky aside a boob junky, you can see the insane takoyaki details. Plus plot. Great plot.  I think the only thing I really hated about this figure was that the chopsticks in the yakisoba were LOOSE which is a huge hazard for getting lost or even broken.  I got lucky a few times putting them in the soba (which can be tricky) cause I dropped them onto beige carpet.

Semi sweet haul

I went and got my makeup done, just to play around with some looks and the girl who has done my makeup twice now is just…the best. She is sweet and she is really good at building customer rapport without being pushy and irritating. I love it.

We played around with liquid foundation and I found one that I really enjoyed. Urban Decay; Naked Skin foundation #6. It’s smooth, and goes on very easily. It blends well and if you don’t intend on wearing much else, it provides both semi-sheer and opaque coverage without looking like you’re wearing heavy makeup.

Next up is the Semi-Sweet chocolate bar palette from Too Faced. I don’t know if you guys can tell, but I really really enjoy Too Faced products.  It’s got some different qualities from the original palette which I did enjoy. Now, I’m seeing reviews that the “gurus” had one reason or another not to like the palette this time around, but I don’t know. I’m just an amateur anyways.

Out of the package, it’s got a lighter and creaming color than the original bar. So, I suppose it’s the milk chocolate version versus the dark chocolate of the original?

Together, you can see some obvious differences. Now, I think that the new semi-sweet is a little cooler than the original bar but that’s just me. The colors are definitely richer very pigmented. There is a black and a sheer glitter included in this palette and lots of shimmers. The mattes are extremely creamy. They feel like touching frosting. I’m in love with ’em.

Here is the new bar. The colors are labelled, and they are very warm and inviting to me. I really like that they included a black for those of us who are partial to using a black shadow for blending and liner.  The blue is a surprise and at first it seemed like it just doesn’t go with the palette. I used it the other day though and the look turned out successful to say the least.

The original Chocolate bar. If you guys remember, this bar was made way thicker as far as the package goes. They did re-release the bar in a slimmer package like the semi-sweet but the one I have is the 1st release.

Swatches!! Unfortunately, I feel like my skin tone is incredibly difficult to swatch neutrals with as many of them blend into my arm tone. My face is considerably lighter than my arms and even my neck. I also do a lot to protect my face skin though.

Cognac colored lipgloss from Smashbox! It’s super neutral. I wanted a darker color for my lips but not so dark that it gets back into fall colors. It worked out really great, has awesome staying power and it can go from sheer and light to dark and pigmented.

Now this illuminizer. I just, I had my doubts because I’ve bought the Josie Maran highlighter and the Watt’s Up from benefit. They’re both good, especially for dewy evening looks but this one is better for day or classic looks. It’s matte so if you’re oily, it doesn’t play on your oil zones. The way it looks applied just really brightens up my face in a way, I can’t describe.

BONUS!!  For rouge members’ birthday!! Nars lip crayons!

Still not dead

I’m FINALLY on vacation from school. At this point, I am finished as I opted to take all my exits before the break. The last week in Jan. is more for those who wanted to take it after the break, however, I am still required to attend. In reality, I’ll just be watching Netflix and playing Hyperdimension Neptunia: Re Birth all day for a week straight. On the bright side, I can get caught up on The Walking Dead.

This year for Richard’s birthday, I finally caved and got him a bunny companion. In reality, the cats are more mine than anything else. He’s always mentioned having one and since they are relatively low maintenance I thought it was a good time to get one. Plus, a friend of ours had just rescued a bunny at her complex; the rabbit was left outside after the owners moved for nearly a whole day with little food, little water and no shade. We named her Coco (Chanel)

She has warmed up  to us pretty quickly despite her harrowing drive, 3 hours, from San Diego county back up to Ventura county. I felt so bad that she was in the carrier for that long as I can’t even really imagine doing that to a dog or cat.  But we made it back and the next day she was eating normally again and generally acting like a healthy bunny.

One of the last days with my girls. Baby momma not picture because the baby likes to stay up all night and sleep all day. Not even born yet and she is really bossy!!  wwwww I have more pictures to share from our very last day though!
